Protecting Your Home from the Ground Up

Your home’s foundation is one of its most important features—but it’s also one of the most overlooked. If you’ve started noticing cracks in your basement walls, bowing blocks, or floors that don’t feel level anymore, those are signs your foundation may need attention.  At Del-Val Basement Waterproofing, we specialize in identifying the root causes of foundation issues and providing long-lasting, engineered solutions to restore stability, prevent further damage, and protect your investment.

Foundation problems can sneak up on you, but there are clear warning signs you shouldn’t ignore. Here are a few of the most common issues we help homeowners with—and how we fix them:

Bowing or Leaning Basement Walls

If your basement walls are starting to curve or tilt inward, it’s often due to soil pressure or poor drainage around your home. Over time, that pressure builds and pushes the walls out of alignment.

What we do:

  • Reinforce the wall using wall pins, steel I-beams, or wall plate anchors
  • In more severe cases, we can rebuild the wall completely
  • We also offer the DAT System, which not only stabilizes the wall but can gradually pull it back toward its original position over time

Cracks in Walls or Floors

Not all cracks are serious—but if you’re seeing horizontal or stair-step cracks, especially with water seepage, that’s a red flag. Cracks can let water in and weaken the overall structure.

What we do:

  • Prioritize exterior crack repairs to block water at its source
  • Use high-quality interior repair methods when outside access isn’t possible
  • Offer backup drainage solutions to prevent future water issues

Uneven Floors or Sticking Doors

When a foundation shifts or settles, the signs often show up inside—like sloping floors, or doors and windows that don’t open properly.

What we do:

  • Assess for possible foundation settling or shifting support piers
  • Stabilize the foundation and reinforce key areas underneath your home
  • Recommend next steps based on your home's structure and layout

Water or Dampness in the Basement

Water intrusion is often the first sign of foundation trouble—and it can lead to bigger issues like mold, rot, or structural weakening.

What we do:

  • Seal cracks, reinforce walls, and recommend proper exterior waterproofing
  • Combine drainage and structural repairs to keep moisture out long term
  • Ensure your foundation is protected against hydrostatic pressure

Aging or Deteriorating Stone Foundations

Older homes with stone foundations often deal with crumbling mortar or peeling paint caused by moisture buildup.

What we do:

  • Apply a durable two-coat roughcasting system that seals and restores the surface
  • Protect against future moisture damage while maintaining a clean, finished look

Featured Solution: The DAT System Wall Repair

For bowing block walls, the DAT System is a patented, engineer-designed solution that’s both effective and minimally invasive. Unlike traditional methods that simply hold a wall in place, this system can gently pull it back toward plumb over time—helping restore its position and stability.

  • Ideal for walls bowed 1 inch or more over a 4-foot span
  • Installed in just one day
  • No floor cutting, no messy demo—a clean, engineered fix
  • Backed by a third-party structural engineer

We’ve proudly partnered with its creator, Dirk Anthony Taylor, to bring this innovative option to homeowners looking for better results without the disruption.

Del-Val's Foundation Repair & Waterproofing Services

Basement Foundation Repair Solutions That Last

A strong foundation is essential for a dry, safe, and structurally sound basement. At Del-Val Basement Waterproofing, we offer expert repair services that tackle the root of your foundation issues—whether it’s cracks, shifting, or wall movement caused by soil pressure or water intrusion.

Foundational Crack Repairs:

We seal and reinforce foundation cracks to stop water seepage and prevent further structural damage. Whenever possible, we tackle cracks from the outside to block moisture before it reaches your basement walls.

Exterior & Basement Waterproofing:

Our team applies high-quality, protective waterproofing membranes to the interior or exterior of your foundation, helping shield your basement from long-term water infiltration and mold growth.

Structural Wall Reinforcement:

Bowing or cracked basement walls are stabilized using proven solutions like steel I-beams, wall anchors, or the DAT System, depending on the severity. These methods are designed to halt further movement—and in some cases, even correct it over time. Another highly effective reinforcement technique is the Rod and Grout method. This involves opening specific cells within the block wall to insert vertical steel rebar, typically spaced 12 to 48 inches apart, depending on structural requirements. The wall cores are then filled solid with high-strength grout or concrete, creating a reinforced column from the footing to the top of the wall. This method not only stabilizes the existing structure but also significantly increases the wall's resistance to future movement.

Interior Wall Coatings:

Enhance moisture resistance by sealing basement walls, preventing dampness and mold growth. Our team applies high-quality coatings that help maintain a dry and healthy basement environment.
